Allergies and Intolerances

  • Allergens and additives that must be declared are marked on the menu. Please note, however, the information on traces and cross-contamination (see below).
  • Students with an allergy should contact the Mensa staff directly before eating to find out more about the ingredients.
  • All students who, for health reasons, are dependent on a certain diet can apply to the Agentur für Arbeit for a supplement for additional requirements. More detailed information can be obtained from our social service.

Allergic food plan

The information on the ingredients of the meals is based on recipes, individual ingredients and the information we receive from the manufacturers and suppliers of the individual ingredients. As the manufacturers rarely produce and sell just one product, it can never be completely ruled out that the products may contain proportions of ingredients not listed.
In addition, the artisanal processing and treatment of food in canteen kitchens means that when the various food components are brought together, unintentional mixing can occur and, as a result, the transfer of small quantities of other substances which can trigger allergies and intolerances. These traces are not included in the labelling.
For this reason, allergy sufferers must be aware that the food on offer may contain other allergenic ingredients in addition to those labelled. The Studierendenwerk Freiburg therefore excludes any liability due to non-prescription ingredients in the food.
Please note the weekly schedule: The allergen labelling can change until the day of issue, correctness is only guaranteed in the current daily schedule.
