Join us on an enchanting hike through the winter landscape of the Black Forest! Our tour starts together in Freiburg and takes us from St. Peter along scenic mountain trails to St. Märgen.
Along the way, you can expect impressive panoramas, quiet forest paths, and cultural highlights such as the idyllically situated Kapfenkapelle chapel, where we will take a short break and enjoy the view of the mountain range between Thurner and Schauinsland. If there is enough snow, the hike will be a special experience: the snow-covered winter forest and the vast white expanses create a fairytale atmosphere.
Optionally, we can make a short detour to the Vogesenkapelle chapel – a quiet place on the edge of the route that invites you to pause and reflect. If you like, you can then take the opportunity to take a look behind the scenes of the historic Rankmühle mill. The doors are open on this day, and you can see for yourself how traditional milling is still carried out here. You will learn exciting facts about the history of the mill, the loving renovation of the building, and the commitment of the support association.
The hike ends in St. Märgen, from where we will make the return trip to Freiburg together.
