In cooperation with the Studierendenwerk Freiburg, the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg supports its students with a emergency student aid. This is a support programme for students who, through no fault of their own, find themselves in financial difficulties - for example due to the Corona crisis - and which provides financial support of up to 300 euros per month for a period of up to three months. The support does not have to be paid back. All students of the Albert-Ludwigs-University are entitled to apply. Application and payment of the grant is handled by the Studierendenwerk Freiburg, see also Contact & Info.
Please note: The university's emergency student aid is fed by donations and has limited resources. Please understand that during the period of the German federal Emergency fund for students (Überbrückungshilfe), grants from the Emergency Student Aid of the University Freiburg can only be approved in a few exceptional cases. The prerequisite for processing your application for a grant from the Emergency Student Aid of the University Freiburg is that you have already submitted an application for German Federal Emergency Fund for Students (Überbrückungshilfe) and this application has been rejected. Please enclose the rejection notice as a pdf file with your application.
