Studieren mit Behinderung und/oder chronischer Krankheit

Studying with a disability and/or chronic illness

Counseling

The social counseling service provides free advice tailored to your needs. We are in contact with representatives from the universities and can offer you independent advice on issues such as compensation for disadvantages or social benefits (during semesters off).

BAföG

If you already receive BAföG, you can claim special needs, such as an extended standard period of study or adjusted allowances. It is best to contact your case worker directly for this.

If you do not yet receive BAföG, we strongly recommend that you apply. You can get an initial brief consultation at our BAföG brief consultation at the Infoladen.

Cafeteria

Our cafeterias serve freshly prepared meals every day. If you have any food intolerances, please speak to the staff on site. All allergens and additives that must be declared are marked on the daily menu. You can find more information here.

More detailed information on the accessibility of the individual cafeterias and cafés can be found on the respective subpages for each facility.

Residence

We offer accommodation units for different needs in several student residences in Freiburg.
Barrier-free accommodation is available in the Vauban student village, on Berliner Allee, on Händelstraße, in the student housing complex, and on the campus of the Faculty of Engineering. This includes specially equipped units for deaf people, people with visual impairments, and students with walking disabilities.
