Was wäre, wenn wir unseren gesamten Jahresbedarf an Lebensmitteln, Kleidung und Energie auf nur 2.000 m² anbauen müssten? Genau das zeigt der Weltacker in Freiburg – ein einzigartiges Bildungsprojekt, das globale Zusammenhänge auf lokaler Fläche sichtbar macht.
Weltweit stehen rund 1,5 Milliarden Hektar Ackerfläche zur Verfügung – das entspricht etwa 2.000 m² pro Mensch. Bei der Führung über den Weltacker erlebst du hautnah, wie diese Fläche aufgeteilt ist – und was das mit unserem Konsum, globaler Gerechtigkeit und nachhaltiger Ernährung zu tun hat.

What if we had to grow our entire annual requirement of food, clothing and energy on just 2,000 m²? This is exactly what the World Field in Freiburg shows - a unique educational project that visualises global connections on a local area. Around 1.5 billion hectares of arable land are available worldwide - that corresponds to around 2,000 m² per person. On the guided tour of the world's arable land, you will experience at first hand how this area is divided up - and what this has to do with our consumption, global justice and sustainable nutrition.
