Studying with Handicap

Studying with handicap

Counselling is particularly important when the usual difficulties in studying are compounded by individual handicaps. You can get advice and help at the consultation hours of the social counselling service or from the representatives for students with disabilities and illnesses at the individual universities.

The Studierendenwerk offers barrier-free rooms for students with disabilities in some halls of residence.

Barrier-free housing

Our halls of residence have been checked for accessibility and comprehensively documented.

In Freiburg, we offer barrier-free housing for different needs in the Studentendorf Vauban, in Berliner Allee, in Händelstraße, in the Student Settlement as well as on the campus at the Technical Faculty.

In Offenburg, there is also a wheelchair-accessible flat available in St.-Martin-Straße.

You can find more information here or on the page of the respective hall of residence.

If you would like to apply for a barrier-free hall of residence room, please contact us directly.

There is one flat each for the deaf and visually impaired in the student settlement at Seepark.
